I took my mini beagle in while she was in the later stages of kidney failure, didn't order an entire panel on her blood work, but I had them check her kidney and liver function to reaffirm what I already expected. At the time we assumed that she had been into some sort of chemical. When we came home to bury her the rest of my dogs were dying and turns out there is a severe case of the PARVO VIRUS in my neighborhood. I called to warn the vet because she had given Daisy a rectal exam without proper precautions. The receptionist was very rude and said that there was no way that Parvo could cause kidney failure. And she is right, however Parvo causes severe dehydration which any idiot can tell you can cause kidney failure. She was rash and without even pulling my beagles file she assured me that there was no way that it could be the parvo virus. I found not only their bedside manner, but their lack of empathy very unprofessional.
If you wish to get your pet back, I would not take to this facility. We dropped off our cat late on Wednesday for surgery on Thursday and before he even got boarded, they had wrapped him in a towel and given him to someone else as their pet... Needless to say he got spooked and ran away and we are now devastated about losing our pet!
I took my new Great Dane for his second set of shoots. They took him straight back and done a very good exam. Also explained the option of heartworm medication and educated me about heartworms. The only problem I had with them was the price they quoted me was way off of what it costed. I will defently take my dogs to see Dr. Brown again.
