Prices are reasonable. It's like a little hidden gem, I never knew or heard about Horace Mann until another (local) insurance co. suggested them because my rates with (local) were going to be increasing by over $150 mth (I said that correctly, PER MONTH) even after being with them for over 2 years b/c I switched cars.
Anytime I've called to ask questions about my policy they go above and beyond making sure to provide accurate up to date info and that I fully understand my coverage. I've never had a bad experience or felt like "another number."
Other insurance companies tend to send out promotional emails every other day (which drives me nuts). While Horace Mann sends what I need. That alone it worth 4 stars!
I also like that they have an app, could use a bit more updating, it is a bit basic.
